To Find A Crack In The Monolith Opening Reception

  • Maple Street Denim 465 9th Street Oakland, CA, 94607 United States (map)

In the days after the 2016 presidential election, many of us found ourselves reeling from the news that Donald Trump will be our country's president. Fear about what this meant for us and our loved ones and anger that our fellow citizens had voted for such a man abound. We found ourselves asking, what do we do next? How do we get past the sense of inertia that comes in the wake of such a cultural upheaval?

Artist and curator Alison OK Frost envisioned a collaborative art show of protest posters and soon found venues for it here at Maple Street Denim and Faye’s Video and Espresso in San Francisco.

We organized this show to let our voices as Bay Area artists, designers, teachers, activists, small business owners and members of the community be heard.

Please join us at Maple Street Denim where locally realized political posters are on view and for sale to the public. Come make a difference by supporting the fight against the new administration’s policy while at the same time taking home a print by a local artist.
