We Are Hiring!

We are looking to add a part time sales associate to our team. We are currently open from 11:30-7 Monday - Saturday, and 12-6 Sunday. We will be hiring for 2-3 shifts to begin with, but the best applicant will be available to cover more shifts from time to time. For the long term, this position has potential to grow as our business grows.

Our shop is a heavily customer-service based environment that can range from extremely busy and fast-paced to quiet with down-time to be filled with tasks such as dusting, straightening and restocking. We are looking for someone who can adjust easily to those changes, can contribute new ideas to our growing business, and, most importantly, loves helping customers and is confident about making sales in a high-end designer boutique. 

This is a fun job, but it is hard work and requires dedication and a genuine interest in the work. We will conduct initial interviews and follow up with 3 hour paid working interviews with qualified candidates. 

Duties include:

-Assisting customers one-on-one in finding the right pair of jeans - this includes learning about all of the different brands, styles, fits and washes as well as manufacturing details. Must be respectful to the customer and genuinely interested in connecting with people. 

-Operating the Point of Sale system, including counting the drawer at the beginning and end of the day, ringing up sales, handling cash, gift certificates, and store credits

-Maintaining a welcoming and friendly environment for every customer who comes into our store: greeting them, engaging in conversation, being available to answer questions about our inventory.

-Restocking, folding, straightening and merchandising inventory - including changing mannequins and store displays

-Cleaning and keeping the shop maintained - dusting, cleaning windows, vacuuming, taking out trash and recycling

-Answering phone calls, text messages, and occasionally social media inquiries

Qualifications:

-Must be at least 18 years old

-Friendly, outgoing, and bright with an ability to learn quickly.

-Strong customer service skills and works well with a small, close-knit team of employees

-Able to both take direction and be a self-starter with initiative to see things that need to be done`

-Must be able to ask questions and take direction from supervisors

-Computer/ipad savvy with an ability to understand digital tasks easily. Social media skills strongly encouraged!

-Has an interest in denim and fashion but is in no way snobby or considers themself an expert 

-Able to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for up to 8 hours per day and use a 3-step stool

-Can work both weekdays and weekends as well as the upcoming holidays and has flexibility to cover shifts. We will not be able to hire anyone who leaves town for Christmas, please keep this in mind when applying. 

-Understanding that we are a growing business that is building our brand identity. The ideal candidate already has some familiarity with what we do and who we are and genuinely wants to be part of the MSDOAK team
